The long-running doubts regarding the CBSE board examinations came to an end today. An important meeting was held on this issue on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In which a big decision was taken to cancel CBSE's 12th board examinations. PM Modi today took the decision to cancel the examination after extensive discussions with the states and other stakeholders.
In the meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the safety and health of children are paramount. It is not appropriate to stress children in such an environment. He also said that children's lives cannot be put in danger. In the meeting, the Prime Minister asked the CBSE officials to prepare the results of CBSE Class XII students in a time-bound manner as per the well-defined norms.
The Prime Minister said that the decision on CBSE's 12th examination has been taken in the interest of the students. He said that Kovid-19 has affected the academic calendar and the issue of board examinations is causing immense concern among students, parents, and teachers, which should be ended.
The PM said that the situation of COVID continues across the country while the numbers are dwindling in the country and some states are managing the situation through effective micro-control. At the same time, some states have still opted for lockdown. In such an environment, students, parents and teachers are naturally concerned about the health of the students. The PM said that students should not be forced to appear in the examination in such a tense situation.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had appealed to the PM to cancel the exam even before the meeting. He tweeted, "Children and parents are very worried about the 12th examination. They want that the 12th examination should not be held without vaccination. I appeal to the central government that the 12th examination should be canceled. On the basis of their past performance. be assessed."
Now after the cancellation of the examination, he has expressed happiness over this decision of PM Modi. He said, "I am happy that the 12th examination has been cancelled. We were all concerned about the health of our children. It is a big relief."
